About Us
A word from the Founder
Growing up, I saw my mom experience the most painful period cramps. She would jokingly say sometimes that "Being a woman is painful," a fact I just had to accept. It was only when she had a C-section for my youngest sister that the doctor diagnosed her with endometriosis. This entire time, she had been living with a chronic debilitating condition, but because of lack of awareness of the condition, she never knew and never sought treatment.

Our Mission
At WHAM (Women’s Health Awareness Movement), our mission is to improve healthcare for women and people of all gender and sexual identities. Driven by a dedicated team of medical students, we bring energy and purpose to outreach, educational and fundraising initiatives to tackle key women’s health issues and spotlight topics such as endometriosis, breast cancer and women’s heart health.
We proudly collaborate with a range of community organizations — including ProACT and EndoCARES at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) — to expand our impact and amplify women’s health advocacy. Together, we’re building a community that is informed, engaged, and committed to championing the health needs of women and gender-diverse individuals.
